Royal Adelaide Hospital

  • Client: HYLC

The SA Government developed the new Royal Adelaide Hospital under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) framework. Hansen Yunken and Leighton Contractors Joint Venture (HYLC) is responsible for the design and construction of the hospital. The A$1.85 billion Royal Adelaide Hospital will be Australia’s most advanced hospital and is the single largest infrastructure project in South Australia.

Caledonia Group were engaged by HYLC to provide scaffolding and rigging services on site. In addition to general scaffolding and rigging works, significant works so far include:

  • The supply of 22,000 metres of handrail and barrier mesh for temporary edge protection.
  • Design, engineering, supply and installation of overhead protection scaffolds to protect structures from any dropped objects.
  • Rigging services to facilitate the installation and relocation of Preston Decks on each level.

Once again it is not by chance that Caledonia have been engaged on another significant Australian Project.
