Port Pirie Transformation and Lead Smelter

Caledonia Group has worked with Nyrstar at Port Pirie for several years. The main project was the Transformation Project. During our tenure throughout this project we also provided scaffolding and both insulation and cladding for shutdowns across the plant. The implementation of the Mobile Fabrication Workshop is proving to be a valuable asset during time-sensitive shutdowns, where emerging works were handled ‘on the spot’ to reduce delays and improve overall efficiency and timelines. In 2020, we were then awarded a 3-year maintenance contract. In addition, we also provided insulation and cladding multiple shutdowns at their Hobart Zinc Refinery.
