The weather is warming up and we’re working up a sweat—mostly because of how hard we’ve been working on scaffolding projects across Australia and New Zealand! We thought we’d focus this post on some awesome initiatives and events we had going on last month. Check them out below.
Safety Champion, Working At Heights
As part of Octobers National Safe Work Month, Caledonia have appointed our Working At Heights Safety Champion, Steve Holt.
Steve has taken on the role as part of Caledonia’s Critical Risk initiative; assigned with a number of responsibilities to ensure the Group is aligned with understanding, identifying and reacting to the risks surrounding Working At Heights.
We welcome Steve into the Caledonia Safety Champions Team.
Mates In Construction – National Industry Partner
Representatives of our NSW division recently attended the Mates In Construction charity lunch, held at Doltone House, set in the beautiful Darling Harbour precinct.
It was a fantastic event, providing a great insight into the invaluable work MIC perform in the prevention of suicide and increased awareness of mental health in the construction industry. MC’s for the day were comedians Tahir Bilgic and Rob Shehadie, who provided the room with plenty of laughs, as well as some unexpected audience participation!
Caledonia Group were delighted to sponsor the post-lunch networking event, where we were presented with a National Industry Partner Plaque for our ongoing support of Mates In Construction across our geographical locations. Many thanks to Greg Johnston and the MIC team for the invitation and opportunity to sponsor the event.
We look forward to the next one!
National Safe Work Month
October is National Safe Work Month and Safework Australia are launching their ‘Be a Safety Champion‘ campaign.
This falls in line with Caledonia Group’s Critical Risk Program, and we’re supporting the campaign by nominating our own Safety Champions to become the Health & Safety leaders within our organisation.
Throughout the month of October, we’ll be announcing our Champions and following up on the activities and initiatives they develop to promote and support best practice and a positive safety culture across the Group.
