“Join our mission to recycle 1 million kilos of shrink wrap by 2028. Together, we can stop plastic from ending up in landfills”.
About GoodWrap Recycling:
GoodWrap Recycling is a nationwide shrink wrap recycling programme that helps save the planet and our industry’s reputation. They have teamed up with industry leaders to pioneer a recycling process that doesn’t just sound good for the planet – it is good.
In collaboration with EIC, Mainfreight, SARNZ, and ShrinkWrap Supplies, they are helping us to reduce our carbon footprint through reverse logistics and by recycling our waste here in New Zealand. This recycled material is then used in local manufacturing.
GoodWrap Recycling have created a clean recycling process that greatly reduces the number of contaminants. This means they can produce reclaimed resin that closely resembles virgin material, reducing the need for new plastic production
Caledonia New Zealand’s Involvement:
This year, our New Zealand office went above and beyond to ensure that they are proactive in reducing the waste generated on our sites.
Our NZ team are now GoodWrap Certified. This means every kilo of shrink wrap we purchase is accurately tracked compared to the plastic we send for recycling. Our current ‘Green’ certification represents up to 75% of our waste plastic is recycled. Next year we aim to achieve the ‘Silver’ certification meaning between 75 – 90% of our waste plastic is recycled.
We are honoured to be a part of this program as we dedicate ourselves to sustainability and a greener future.
The Recycling Process:
Once GoodWrap Recycling receive, weigh and grade our shrink wrap, they issue a receipt to our team. This way we know exactly how much plastic we’ve helped keep out of landfills.
Because we only use premium grade shrink wrap that is manufactured in the USA, when our plastic is recycled it produces a very high quality resin. This resin is then used by New Zealand based manufacturers to create a variety of products ranging from damp proof membranes, pallet shrouds and even back into shrink wrap!
So support our mission towards recycling 100% of our shrink wrap. Saving the planet and saving on landfill costs has never felt so good.

Why Use Shrink Wrap:
Shrink wrap in construction sites provides a plethora of advantages that would otherwise be absent. At Caledonia Group, we are dedicated to ensuring that the quality of our work only improves with time. Our team is trained in the latest technologies within our industry sectors and effectively implement them to boost site efficiency. Some of the biggest reasons to use shrink wrap are as follows:
- Protection from the elements
- Containment of debris
- Safety enhancement
- Increases cost efficiency – deters from vandalism and potential theft
Our teams are constantly at their peak, working tirelessly to produce high quality finishes on all projects. This material also acts as a protectant against harm. Known for its versatility and durability, shrink wrap is the definition of a perfect tool or resource for construction and scaffolding sites as our teams work to produce high quality finishes. For example, our scaffolders are presented with less degree of risk with a barrier of durable polymer plastic between them and a fall from heights. It also helps us ensure that we are complying with all regulatory requirements by guaranteeing a contaminant-free environment due to the containment of all dust and debris.
All there is to say, is Caledonia Group is constantly committing themselves to protecting their workers from any risk of harm.
