It’s been a busy few months here at Caledonia. Although we were excited to welcome the new year, we have been incredibly saddened by the recent Australian Bushfire crisis. Read on to find out how we’re doing our part to support Australian communities, as well as some other updates.
Caledonia Group are supporting the recent Bushfires through the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery initiative. On January 29th, employees will donate a minimum of one hour’s wage to support the relief effort across Australia. In addition, every dollar donated by our employees will be matched by Caledonia Group.
A big shout out to WA State Manager Colin Gibson for coming up with the initiative, and to everyone at Caledonia for getting behind the campaign with their individual donations. Our hearts and prayers go out to all those who have been affected by the devastating fires across the country.

Design Innovation – VR Technology
As part of our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, Caledonia Group have recently invested in the use of VR technology to further enhance our design and engineering capabilities.
The use of VR technology enables clients to walk the design in real time to inspect its viability prior to construction. A full menu of options is available within the VR Prospect software to enable full interaction with the model. A major benefit of this technology is that the client and designer can work together, making live amendments to a design, even when located in different locations, adding to the overall efficiency of the process.
The use of 3D animations and VR technology positions Caledonia as an industry leader in this field and further enhances our overall suite of integrated services offered to our clients.

Charity Golf Day
What a fantastic day was had by all who attended Caledonia’s Charity Golf Day on the 6th December at Flagstaff Hill Golf Club. Forty-four players came together to raise money for the Smiling Child Foundation, established by Caledonia’s industry partner Redspear/Safespear.
This was the inaugural fundraiser for the foundation, providing assistance to Raukkan Aboriginal School in SA and Hillcrest School in the west. Through a number of competitions including a Hole in One Challenge, Chipping & Putting competitions, Par 3 Fortfeit Hole, Silent Auction Wine Wall and Table Raffle, a grand total of $11,000 was raised by those who attended.
Our thanks goes out to everyone who made this such a great success, both by taking part and through your sponsorship and donation of prizes for the auction. Congratulations to all of our prize winners, with the team from OZ Minerals taking out the major prize!
We are looking forward to next year.
