Cryogenic Insulation

Cryogenic Temperatures Need a Strong Insulation System

At cryogenic temperature extremes ranging down to -161 degrees Celsius, it is imperative to prevent moisture from entering the insulation system. In the event of freezing, moisture can damage insulation and cladding and even cause rupturing. The greater the temperature difference between ambient and process temperature, the greater the ‘pull’ of moisture to the pipe or vessel surface, and consequently, the greater the need for an effective and durable barrier system.

Caledonia cryogenic technicians are experienced and extensively trained in cryogenic applications. Cryogenic applications can be significantly more demanding on the skillsets of the insulation technician. This skill set combined with our engineering and design support team ensures that we deliver, design, and ultimately develop the highest performing cryogenic applications for your project.
