As a company that values community—both that of the workplace and those that we live and work in, we are extremely proud to share some of the activities and achievements our team have completed in the past few months.
Chevron City to Surf
The 26th of August saw members of Caledonia WA swap their work shoes for runners as they completed the Chevron City to Surf for Activ. The team took part in memory of Mark Kearney and raised funds for his family. Mark was a scaffolder who tragically passed away from lung cancer five months ago. A GoFundMe page has also been set up in support of his family:
Westpac City Bay Fun Run
Nikki Brammer is a member of our South Australian Caledonia team. On the 16th of September, Nikki took part in the Westpac City Bay Fun Run. She completed the 12 kilometre walk in just 1 hour and 53 minutes—what an amazing feat! Nikki chose to support CanTeen, a national support organisation for young people living with cancer as well as their family, and young people with primary carers with cancer.
Recognising members of our Caledonia community
A call from the Synergy shutdown coordinator saw Gerry Byrne and Chris Lymon receive a $50 voucher for the fantastic feedback they received:
“Chris and Gerry’s dedication to safety and the level of professionalism is next to none and they represent Caledonia’s values to the upmost.”
We love rewarding our team to encourage awesome performances like this. Great job!
Reward and recognition
After only working in the role for about three weeks, team member Michael Loots handled an extremely busy period as if he’d worked here for years. What a great performance and his achievements were outstanding. It was no question that he would receive this month’s reward and recognition!

Caledonia NZ Project Update
Client: Naylor Love
Job: Briscoes Rebel Sports
Caledonia NZ have been engaged with Naylor Love at their Taylor Road site since mid 2018, providing a range of scaffolding solutions including perimeter scaffolds, lift shaft access, handrail, staircases and loading bays. In addition, several falsework towers and back propping solutions have been implemented across the site.
The pictures highlight two of the perimeter scaffolds, one of which was an extremely tight space adjacent to the neighbouring apartment block. The erect of the scaffold was challenging due to the tight access, lack of solid base and close proximity of trench work which made the successful outcome even more pleasing for the crews involved.
An update on the Northern Connector
Caledonia’s ongoing work on the Northern Connector project with Lendlease continues to grow. The pictures illustrate the sequence of pier scaffolds and stair accesses to the Bridge 3 section of the project. All scaffolds are designed and built using the Layher system and clad in fire retardant Lyta Mesh.
In addition to Lendlease, Caledonia have also provided various scaffolds for LR&M Constructions as well as other subcontractors on site. We look forward to the continuation of the project into 2019 and would like to acknowledge the achievements of Neil Dunlop and all the Caledonia crews who have contributed to the project thus far.
We are delighted to be working with Delta Group on their first project in Adelaide
Caledonia are delighted to be working with Delta Group on their first project here in Adelaide. The project was delivered in a tight timeline, including engineered needle scaffolds to access the building across neighbouring rooflines. The use of Layher assisted in bringing the build in on time accompanied by some careful planning and organisation in a very tight work front. High praise to the crew, working with a new client in a challenging environment. We hope to extend the working relationship with Delta Group across the country and wish them well as they enter into the Adelaide market.
