April has been another exciting month for Caledonia, we have been very busy and we’ve loved every moment of it. Here’s just a few things we’ve been up to in the last month.
ECU Engineering Department Open Day
Caledonia took part in ECU Engineering Department Open Day for graduate engineers.
The forum was a great opportunity for Caledonia to present its engineering and design capabilities to the graduate engineers. We presented opportunities for future internships at Caledonia and highlighted some of our successful designs that have been executed across Australia and New Zealand.
Our engineer, Baiju George discussed his pathway into scaffolding design and the successful career he has had to date.
Congratulations to Kozel Carthew on the completion of the Caledonia Scaffolding traineeship.
Kozel commenced his traineeship with Caledonia in March 2017 and has received the necessary qualifications.
Kozel received day to day mentoring from highly regarded and experienced Caledonia supervisors and have worked on projects such as GPO Towers, Carmelite, Northern Connector, Adelaide Casino and Prominent Hill.
Once again, congratulations to Kozel who continues to work with the Caledonia team as a qualified scaffolder.
Caledonia WA – Trainee Update
The WA team extend a warm welcome to its latest intake of Trainees; Joshua Linter and Jay Martin (pictured).
The guys have embarked on their scaffolding journey with Caledonia and will spend the first few weeks familiarising themselves with the materials and processes.
We look forward to hearing more about their journey as they proceed out into the various work fronts we have across the state. Welcome aboard!
Caledonia NSW – Stonemason & Artists, No. 1 Martin Place
Construction is underway at heritage listed 1 Martin Place in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. To date over 40 tonne of material has been erected on site, with this expected to reach 120 tonne.
The crews have had to navigate through some tricky logistics with regards to access and delivery of materials in order to reach the construction time frames, but the end result is a fantastic looking build, as always, with safety paramount to the execution.
Caledonia WA – AOG Golf Day
What an amazing day was had by all who attended Caledonia’s Corporate Golf Day at Joondalup Resort in WA last week. The guest players were the prize draw winners from the recent AOG Conference, and represented a cross section of the industry sectors in which Caledonia Group delivers its suite of integrated services.
The Lakes course at Joondalup Resort was in superb condition and the weather ideal for the Ambrose competition, followed by an excellent lunch and plenty of laughs in the Bistro post round.
The overall prize was taken out by the Redspear Safehouse JV, with the Longest Drive and Nearest The Pin going to Alan Clarke (Safehouse) and Andy Williams (Alltype Engineering) respectively. Congratulations to our overall 4 ball winners Barry, Francois, Aaron and Alan and we look forward to enforcing some strict handicaps next time round!
Caledonia NZ – Project Update – Puhoi to Warkworth, NX2 Group (Fletcher Acciona)
Caledonia continue to provide additional services such as falsework to its Auckland client base.
Our crews successfully erected the headstock falsework support for Pier F at the Okahu Viaduct and are now looking at the falsework scopes with numerous other structures.
This is a fantastic end product so well done to our site crews and operations teams!
A new client in WA
Caledonia Group have been providing Insulation & Cladding to a new client in WA. Our client required an extremely quick turnaround to provide Insulation and cladding to a boiler manifold. The team were able to achieve this deadline on time and budget, producing a fantastic end result for the client.
